How to keep your face looking fresh out of lockdown
Finally, Boris is letting us out, we have been cooped up in the house months on end but the end is in sight. We are SUPER excited!! We all want to get out and play but we have to make sure we're ready and more importantly, we have to make sure our SKIN is ready. Staying indoors all day can wreak havoc on our skin, even the central heating we have been blazing through this unusually cold winter can sap out every bit of moisture that is clinging on for dear life. As spring is on the horizon, it's time to step up your skincare game and stay looking fresh as the countdown begins! We share our beauty tips to get your glow on and come out of lockdown with a bang.
1. Keep your face moisturized!
Our face oil 'New Skin Who Dis' contains Jojoba oil which has many healing properties too help treat skin conditions such as acne, eczema and hyperpigmentation. It locks in moisture and easily absorbs into the skin leaving you feeling soft and supple. It is a great option for hydrating, dry and itching skin. Say bye bye to ashy skin for good!
2. Make water your best friend
Water has a plethora of benefits and attributing to good skin is certainly one of them. Drinking at least 8 glasses or more a day (get it in while we're still at home and the bathroom is right there!) can have positive effect on your skin while also having great internal effects. You can also eat your water! Yep, thtats right, eating fruits that contain high water content such as strawberries, grapefruit and oranges can work wonders on your skin too.
3. Address your skin issues with the right products
Some of us have oily skin, some may have dry skin. Knowing your skin type and then using the right products for your skin type will help to address any issues that you may have. If you are encountering hyperpigmentation like many black women encounter, checking the ingredients in your products will help to deal with the issue.
4. Researching the ingredients on the label
Natural products have been on the scene longer than we can remember, however over the last couple of years, more people have invested in using them more than ever. Organic, natural, and eco-friendly are all terms that have become familiar to many of us. Incorporating natural and organic products possess many added benefits that can make your skin and hair flourish. As we like to read the small print when it comes to important documents, we must read what goes on our skin and hair. Get in the habit of reading the label and checking what ingredients are in the products. This will help you tomake more informed choices about what you put on to your skin.
5. Exfoliation is key
Exfoliation removes the barrier of dead skin cells clogging the skin and uncovers new skin when done properly. The regimen can leave your skin looking brighter and smoother, exfoliating is a popular skincare step due to its many positive benefits. However, over exfoliating can cause issues when used excessively, which can lead to skin irritation and inflammation. The best time to exfoliate is in the morning as it is a great time for getting rid of those dead skin cells and as our skin repairs itself over night. You can even DIY and make your own scrub if you are feeling adventurous, using common household item such as salt or sugar.
We've definitely got our fingers crossed and are doing some serious manifestation that July 21st goes according to plan but even if it doesn't and you follow these tips you'll still have banging, glowing skin! #Winning
